Here is a special call out to Rotary members and beyond.
- 48% of domesticated and wild bees lost within last year in North America
- Butterflies and other pollinators are in huge decline
- We know the causes, pesticides, habitat loss, climate change, disease
- Bees pollinate 70 % of food sources
It is not enough to simply acknowledge the problem. Many are ignorant about it or wait for the government to fix it. We all have a responsibility to protect, not extinct.
This is what you can do to help.
1. Plant native flowering plants, bushes and trees in your garden or balcony.
2. Provide a source of fresh water with a safe access
3. Don’t use pesticides. Speak out against them.
4. Share your concern for pollinators and your actions with everyone you know.
Do it for the little creatures and find the joy in growing something to see it bloom and marvel all the visitors.
